No Pope, but still a "Heavenly" experience!
Exciting...Exhausting...Busy...Difficult...Satisfaction...Creative...These are all emotions that I've felt these past couple of days. The pace that we are going is off the scale. Here was our day after the 27 hour trip to get to Catania:
We woke up in Catania and quickly went off to practice. Upon arrival, we were blown away by the caliber of event that we walked in to. The stage, lighting, and audio crews were scattering around the magnificent 19th century theater. The choir practiced for two days and, at the end of the second day, took a bus ride with police escort to the theater. Excitement filled the air as we were taken through the crowd into the theater. This theater became more amazing as people entered the opera boxes of the sold-out theater. Tickets were 300 Euro and there was even a jumbotron outside in the courtyard for the overflow crowd. The choir backed up well-known artists, sang a solo, and did the crowd-favorite "Happy Day". The night ended with a 2:00 am arrival at the hotel and leaving at 7:30 am to go off to Naples. No time for rest!

We're not in Kansas anymore!
What a whirlwind the last 27 hours have been. We met with the choir on Thursday morning and, after having a delay, ran late to the airport. Our plane was delayed by an hour. That was great because we never would've made it. Our eight hour flight to Rome was amazing and capped off by a gorgeous view of the Alps. We followed that with a "10 hour bus ride" that ended up being 13 hours, and we are still getting adjusted with the time changes. Our first video will be up tomorrow for your viewing pleasure. Ciao!
